Please follow these packing instructions carefully before sending your product to Cavalry for service or repair.
Packing Instructions:

Drives being returned for any reason must be packed correctly. Bubble-wrap and other packaging materials can be purchased from a local shipping store or US Post Office. Failure to properly package products may result in damage during shipping. Damage which is a direct result of poor packaging by the customer will void the warranty. Appropriate packaging instructions follow below:

DO NOT ship in a padded envelope. Contents are inadequately padded and loose, causing abrasion and damage during transport.

 

DO NOT ship in an oversized box. In this example of how NOT to ship, padding is included, but does nothing to prevent contents from shifting violently during transport.

 

DO:

  • Ship in an appropriately-sized and durable box.
  • Wrap the drive in at least 2 to 3 inches of bubble-wrap, foam, or packing peanuts, making sure the packaged drive fits snugly and securely against the walls of the box.
  • Wrap each individual item separately, so that no two hard surfaces touch directly.
  • Nothing should move or shift, even if the box is turned upside down or shaken.
  • In this example, the extra bubble-wrap would be folded in to cover the accessories and ensure a tight fit inside the box.

DO use the original Cavalry packaging if intact and in good condition.

 

OTHER IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

Packing Slip
Print the email that was sent to you after requesting an RMA and include it with your RMA package. It serves as a packing slip and must be included in your package.


Package Contents
Your shipped package must include the product itself and all original accessories. Failure to do so may result in delay of your RMA.


Shipping
When ready to ship, follow instructions provided in the RMA email and the shipping instructions page.


IMPORTANT NOTES:

You MUST request an RMA before sending in a product for service or return. Packages received that do not have an RMA number will be rejected. You may request an RMA here.

Returns that display grossly inadequate packaging may be rejected by the Cavalry Storage RMA Department.
